Here is the eye after removal of the saline tube but before its access
hole has been closed.

Suturing the saline tube shut.

Now the clear covering of the white of the eye is being pulled back
into place where it will be sutured.

On the right a hypodermic needle can be seen ready to inject medications
that will help prevent infection during the healing process.

Here the needle is driven home with a few light taps from a ball peen
hammer. Just kidding. Actually I was awake during this and although I could
sense being touched there was absolutely no discomfort.
