Sudden loss on 11th September 1997.
Visual Acuity
Loss of visual field 6/6 only in the remainig area.
Treatment
This was due to high altitude on the way back from mountains photo session. I felt darkness and went to the doctor with a blood pressure of 110/170. Two days after giving me tablets for BP, the doctor put me on steroids for about two months, but no change in the visual field.
Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
After steroids, practically nothing is being done for right eye. In my left eye, there is detachment of retina for the last 50 years. Lived my whole life with it.
Family History
No history of detachment of retina. Moreover, my three sons and a daughter are okay.
Impact on My Life
As being instructor photographer and instructor for screen printing technology.
Positive Effects
I had to stop all activities since 1997.
No driving, no independent movement.
As I am now used to my vision, I can work with TV moniter .
Adaptations
Hand held magnifiers are also occasionally used,
and a CCTV, as well.
Working
Self-employment is not much affected.
