Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
Because so little is known about the desease, the doctors can't say how fast or much my vision will decline.
Family History
My parents and all siblings have worn corrective lenses from their teens. My vision was always good until the birth of my child four years ago. Not sure if that contributed or not.
Impact on My Life
I am somewhat in denial. I try not to let others know I can't read menues or signs on the wall. When shopping, it is almost impossible to read the tags for size and price. I love to shop. Reading stories to my baby is a chore. I have to hold the book so close sometimes she can't ssee the pictures until I'm done. The hardest part is thinking I won't be able to read to her or help with homework, or see her beautiful face.
Positive Effects
None!
Adaptations
I am using reading glasses, but soon they won't be strong enough.
Working
I am a substitute teacher, because I am afraid to look for a permanent job and have to tell them about my problem and then be denied or pitied.
More About Me
Praying for a miracle, or at least help out of my depression.
