Prognosis
Getting worse and has been since age 13. Can't read well unless I'm up close. Texting is hard. Can't read much.
Family History
None. My older brother doesn't have it.
Impact On Your Life
Starting to impact me more and more each day. I just graduated high school with only my dad and brother knowing that I have the disease. It's getting harder to keep from people. I still drive, fortunately. Have a normal life, but it just depresses me to see friends see certain things and talk about it, and me saying I see them, but really I can't see anything they're talking about.
Positive Effects
For me absolutely nothing. I try to act like nothing is wrong.
Adaptations
Contact lenses that don't help and reading glasses that don't help
Employment
I work at a fast food restaurant. Want to look for better job, but nervous that I wont be able to do it.
More About Me
I have a lot of friends. I really hope that soon there will be a cure. The hardest thing I deal with is starting new stuff. Tomorrow I start my first day of college, and I'm nervous I wont know where to find stuff. I hope everything works out for me, but I'm truly scared.
