Treatment
(April 200 laser to right eye) then, PDT to right eye in
September, 2000.
Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
I became symptomatic in February of 2000, and the MD progressed
rapidly to the point of not being able to drive, read, watch tv,
etc., within 3-4 months. Prognosis is?????? the doctor is pleased
the leaking stopped on it's own as of December 2000 and indicated I
am doing better. I feel significanly worse.
Family History
My mother had MD in her late 60's early 70's in Quebec
Canada.
Impact on My Life
Significant. I had just recently retired and was enjoying my 3 yr
old and 1 year old granddaughters, and now I cannot see their
beautiful faces anymore. I can't drive and must be within 8" or so
of the tv to see anything. I can sometimes play cards on my
computer if I am within 3 or 4" of the screen, but It is with much
bending and moving.

Working
Retired as a Registered Nurse after 35+ years in 1999 and had one
year of retirement before symptoms of MD became
apparent.
