Prognosis or Current State of Vision
Cell transplant would solve all my problems. RS said in three or four years it will probably be perfected. Red convertible, here I come.

Family History
Mother was diagnosed one year after I was. Mother's sister diagnosed years ago. Distant relatives have been diagnosed with MD. All females.

Impact on My Life
In every way imaginable.

Positive Effects
It got me out of the bowling alley where I owned a snack bar. Do not have to listen to how dry the lanes are anymore. (In all actuality, I would give anything to be back there with my eyesight intact. Retirement would be only a year and a half away.)

Adaptations
CCTV, Zoomtext, binocular glasses for computer, telescopic glasses for distance' talking calculator, food scale, alarm clock. Raised adhesive dots on everything.

Working
n/a

More About Me
I have two children and three grandchildren. In May 2000, I moved to NJ to live with my sister-in-law, her husband and father. In August 2001, we will be moving to Milford, PA for a slower pace of life and quieter. It will also be closer to my hometown.
