6 month check ups. Vita Lux AREDS supplements and controlled diet. I also take anti-inflammatories (Arthrotec) for Arthritis and Atacand for high blood pressure
Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
Good. Blurred central vision in left eye with hole, but still able to make out what and where. Right eye is very good but with small little basket weaves here and there.
Family History
Father died at 91 years old. Had MD, and I believe it developed into macular holes, reflecting back. Mother had fine sight and died at age 87. Brother, born in 1935, is fine. Has had one eye problem, but nothing serious.
Impact on My Life
At first...depression, bitterness. Then when I realized I could still manage and work (I have my own dog grooming business) and. . .
Positive Effects
. . . more importantly, I immediately signed up with CNIB and began voluntary work for them, I found that I was doing pretty good compared to others. Now I just want to help.
