Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
So far so good, but drusen present in unaffected eye so time will
tell.
Family History
No MD in family that I know of. Brother, 65, had his eyes checked
and no indication of MD or drusen.
Impact on My Life
Nothing so far except the conditions of the research study
(numerous eye appointments and tests, etc).
Positive Effects
Try to live life to the fullest with more gratitude for the
blessings I have including good vision so far in one eye and the
opportunity to participart in MD research.
Adaptations
Three pairs of glasses, one withæno lens color and the other
two with UV and blue blocker, one darker than the other. Use the
lighter one in stores with florescent lights and the darker one for
outdoor sunlight. Do not use florescent lights in office, replaced
with halogen light and gooseneck desk lamp. Also computer monitor
screen was replaced with 17 inch.
Working
Business manager for law firm.
More About Me
Work full time, live with devoted and supportive husband and son
(and five Dobermans). Used to show Dobermans but have slowed down
that part of my life to include more traveling in our new 35'
motorhome. Will be retiring with my husband next year and plan on
traveling most of the year.
