Treatment
I have had 28 shots of Avastin (both eyes affected) Close supervision by retina specialist.

Prognosis
I am happy to say that I have been stable for one year now. No bleeds. Left eye continues to loose a little more sight, more so than right eye.

Family History
My father lost his sight at 67 years of age in one eye. At that time no treatment believed to be available.

Impact on My Life
Lets see. Depression. Acceptance. Life goes on.

Positive Effects
On the positive side, I have made a very good friend from this list, because of shared hobbies and ideas. I have learned that I am not alone in this.

Adaptations
I have a CCTV and read many, many boos from Library for the Blind of Tennessee. Also other libraries. Still using my computer so far. Not driving was the hardest thing to accept. Being a little more careful when I am walking and moving about.

Employment
Never worked.

More About Me
I will be married 56 years on Sept. 3, 2011. My husband has many health problems but still manages to take me where ever I need to go. I have two grown children and one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Life is good.
